Bob Odenkirk is on the road to recovery after suffering a heart-related incident earlier this week, according to comedic collaborator David Cross.
“Just got off the phone with Bob and he’s doing great,” Cross, 57, tweeted Friday. “Joking and japing and joshing. Both he and his family are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and concern everyone has shown.”
He added, “You will be hearing from him soon. But he’s doing really well!!!”
The comedy partners co-created and starred in the HBO sketch series “Mr. Show with Bob and David” from 1995 to 1998. They revived the show for one season on Netflix in 2015, calling it simply, “W/ Bob & David.”
Cross previously wished his buddy well upon first hearing news of the actor collapsing on the set of his hit series “Better Call Saul” Tuesday in New Mexico.
“I will share what I know when I can but Bob is one of the strongest people I know both physically and mentally. He WILL get through this,” Cross wrote that night after news broke of Odenkirk’s hospitalization.
The “Arrested Development” star’s update echoed that of Odenkirk’s son, Nate, who tweeted Wednesday that his father is “going to be OK.”
In addition to Cross, Odenkirk’s former “Breaking Bad” co-star Bryan Cranston wrote a heartwarming Instagram post of concern, saying, “Today I woke up to news that has made me anxious all morning. My friend, Bob Odenkirk collapsed last night on the set of ‘Better Call Saul.’ He is in the hospital in Albuquerque and receiving the medical attention he needs but his condition is not known to the public as yet.”
Cranston, 65, added, “Please take a moment in your day today to think about him and send positive thoughts and prayers his way, thank you.”
