Severe storms are likely from Austin to Chicago - CNN

Scattered large to very large hail and damaging winds are the main threats. A few tornadoes are likely.
"Wind damage will likely be the biggest threat," says CNN meteorologist Brandon Miller. "Though a few tornadoes may form, wind damage is likely to be much more widespread and significant."
Storms will begin in the early afternoon and will continue to develop and move through the risk area through the overnight hours.
"Vigorous thunderstorm development is expected by late afternoon from southeast KS into northwest OK," the Storm Prediction Center said.
This area is likely to see the most significant wind and hail events.
"Farther north through the Midwest appears to be where there is the highest likelihood of tornadoes," CNN meteorologist Dave Hennen says. "In an area from eastern Missouri into much of northern Illinois, including St. Louis and the western Chicago suburbs."
Additional storms will develop during the afternoon in Iowa and spread east toward southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois through the evening.
As this line of storms rolls south and east, some places, including Dallas and Houston, won't see the worst until after midnight.
