CROSWELL – The Croswell-Lexington Board of Education has selected Colette Moody as the new superintendent of schools.

Moody, the current interim superintendent and principal of Frostick Elementary was offered, and accepted, the job Wednesday evening after the board interviewed four candidates.

The new contract is expected to be approved by the board at its next week.

Moody will fill the vacancy that opened when Dan Gilbertson resigned to take a superintendent position in Oakland County.

The board received 19 applications for the position and selected four to be interviewed at the special meeting on Aug. 17.

In addition to Moody, the candidates included Paul Flynn, superintendent of Sandusky Community Schools, Michael Domagalski, principal of St. Clair Middle School in the East China School District, and Lisa McDill, principal of Shelby Junior High in Utica Community Schools.

The Cros-Lex board retained the services of the Michigan Association of School Boards to assist in the search.

Dr. Rodney Green, who led the MASB search, offered to conduct a workshop with the board and the new superintendent on roles, relations and expectations, which is part of the MASB superintendent search package.
