LOWELL, Mass. – It will be a quick turnaround for the UMass Lowell women's basketball team (0-2) as the River Hawks have just two days of rest before visiting the Holy Cross Crusaders (1-1) on Monday night. UMass Lowell then opens the home slate against Le Moyne (0-2) on Saturday afternoon at Costello.

LOOKING AT UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks fell in the Friday night matchup with Rhode Island, 78-38. Abbey Lindsey led the team with 11 points on 3-4 shooting from behind the arc. Mili Carrera added 10 points and six rebounds while Sydney Watkins added seven points and six rebounds. The River Hawks had a slow start in the first half but showed better energy in the second half against the Rams.
 
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
Holy Cross fell to Boston College 66-61 in the season opener on November 6. The Crusaders held their home opener on November 9 against Brown and won the game 62-54. Bronagh Power-Cassidy led the team with 20 points on the night while Lindesy Berger dropped a double-double. UMass Lowell is 1-6 against Holy Cross dating back to the 2013 season. The one win for the River Hawks came in 2015, a 75-67 win at home. The Crusaders have won the last four meetings, including last season's matchup, 62-57 in Lowell.
 
SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS
Le Moyne has started the season 0-3, falling to Colorado State, #20 Colorado and Stony Brook. The Dolphins will play and USC before heading to Lowell.  UMass Lowell and Le Moyne have met three times since 2011. The Dolphins have won two of the three meetings, but the River Hawks won the last matchup 69-52 in the 2013 season. Lytoya Baker is averaging 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds to lead the team.
 
A WIN WOULD
A win would be the first victory of the season for the River Hawks and the first win over Holy Cross since 2015.
 
LEADING THE FLOCK
Leilani Rodriguez leads the team averaging 11.0 points per game with Abbey Lindsey and Sydney Watkins averaging 8.5 and 8.0 points, respectively. Rodriguez also leads the team shooting 80% from three while Watkins leads the River Hawks with 15 rebounds and six assists. Rayne Durant's three blocks is a team high this season.
