The undefeated Holy Cross football team has earned a first-round bye and the eight seed in the NCAA FCS playoffs. The Crusaders are set to host a second-round matchup at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Fitton Field.
The Crusaders will host the winner of the first-round matchup between New Hampshire and Fordham, to be played on Nov. 26.
Holy Cross (11-0, 6-0 Patriot League) completed its third 11-0 regular season in program history and first since 1991. The season included numerous marquee wins including a Hail Mary victory against FBS foe Buffalo and an overtime win over nationally ranked Fordham; the Crusaders also earned their first win at Harvard since 2000 and defeated Harvard and Yale in the same season for the first time in program history.
With a third straight undefeated Patriot League slate, Holy Cross won its fourth consecutive Patriot League title this year, becoming the first team in conference history to win four outright titles in a row. The Crusader offense averaged 39.1 points per game and 238.4 rushing yards per contest, both ranking in the top 10 nationwide.
Ticket presale for the second-round game will open for Holy Cross football season ticket members on Monday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. Tickets will go on sale for the general public beginning at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
